DMCA & Copyright Policy

MegaIPTV respects the rights of content creators. This page sets out exactly how to report an infringement and what happens once you do.

MegaIPTV respects the intellectual property rights of content creators and rights holders. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and with the equivalent copyright legislation applicable in Canada. This policy explains our procedure for handling copyright infringement claims.

1. Our licensing position

MegaIPTV operates as a reseller of IPTV subscription access. We do not host, store, originate or transmit the underlying media delivered through the Service. Channels and video-on-demand content are sourced from upstream content providers and distributors who represent that they hold the necessary rights.

Where we receive credible notice that a provider is distributing material without authorisation, we act on it — which in practice means removing the affected bouquet from our line-up and raising the matter with the upstream supplier.

2. Reporting copyright infringement (takedown notice)

If you are a copyright owner or an authorised agent and believe content accessible through megaiptv.ca infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent.

Your notice must contain all of the following

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work — a description of the work you claim has been infringed. A representative list is acceptable where multiple works are involved.
  2. Identification of the infringing material — the specific channel, title or URL, or enough information for us to locate it.
  3. Your contact information — full name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  4. A good faith statement — that you believe the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  5. An accuracy statement — that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the copyright owner.
  6. Your signature — physical or electronic.

Where to send it

Email: [email protected]
Subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice — megaiptv.ca
Postal: Copyright Agent, MegaIPTV Media Services, 350 Sparks Street, Suite 1105, Ottawa, ON K1R 7S8, Canada

We acknowledge valid notices within 5 business days and take appropriate action, which may include disabling access to the material identified and notifying the relevant upstream provider.

3. Counter-notification

If you believe material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notification to [email protected].

Your counter-notice must contain

  1. Identification of the removed content — a description, and its location before removal.
  2. A statement under penalty of perjury — that you believe in good faith the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your contact information — full name, address, telephone number and email address.
  4. Consent to jurisdiction — that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada, and will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.
  5. Your signature — physical or electronic.

On receipt of a valid counter-notification we forward it to the original complainant. If they do not commence a court action within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the material at our discretion.

4. Repeat infringer policy

  • Accounts named in multiple valid copyright infringement notices are reviewed by our compliance team.
  • MegaIPTV terminates the subscriptions of users determined to be repeat infringers.
  • Termination for repeat infringement does not entitle the user to a refund.

5. Misuse of this process

Filing a false takedown notice is a serious legal matter. Under the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)) and equivalent Canadian provisions, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.

6. Contact

All copyright correspondence: [email protected]. Please allow up to 5 business days for a response. Our Terms of Service set out the acceptable-use rules that accompany this policy, our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the personal data contained in a notice, and any billing consequence of an enforcement action is covered by the Refund Policy. General enquiries belong on the contact page.
